ACE Hotel Chicago

(GREC Architects, 2017)

ACE Hotel is a 140,000 sqft. 159 key hotel in the historic Fulton Market District in the West Loop of Chicago.  The boutique hotel takes cues from its context of warehouse’s and historic food production buildings and also pays homage to the Bauhaus aesthetic.  Part of the site includes a historic façade that remained in place to create an varying urban texture to the overall building.  The project includes underground parking, fitness and dance/karaoke facilities, a main ground floor restaurant, retail spaces, an events space, a large roof top deck space, meeting rooms and a rooftop lounge.  The project focuses on local influences beyond the aesthetic.  Local artists provide graphics throughout the building and a local urban farm cultivates produce on the large deck space.  Located adjacent to the Chicago Google headquarters, the ACE Hotel is a hip vibrant addition to the quickly changing West Loop of Chicago.
